It’s been quite a busy couple of months for us at Horeb, the highlight of which was the Summer Solstice Sausage Sizzle, otherwise known as a garden party, held on the 21st June in the beautiful surroundings of Glanrafon. Once again the weather was fantastic and the crowds came to enjoy the wonderful garden, eat sausage baps, drink tea, listen to the choir from Gwaenysgor sing and take part in some other fun activities and games. So thank you to everyone who came, to Dave and Pauline for hosting us again and allowing their garden to be invaded and to everyone else who helped make this event such a successful afternoon. We raised over £500 in the process!
We’ve spent some time recently refurbishing our smaller meeting room at Dyserth Chapel, known as the Henry Gordon room after our previous minister. This room is the location of the community library run by Jennifer on Wednesday mornings and we hope now to use it more extensively by the church and community. We’re also moving forward with our plans to run a community lunch club and will hopefully be able to say more about this soon. Our kitchen has been given the seal of approval by environmental health so that is good news for us and everyone else who uses our premises.
On the afternoon of Saturday 20th September our young people will be holding a Mad Hatters Tea Party to raise money for North Wales Superkids. This will take place between 2pm and 4pm at the church and all are welcome. See separate advert for further details.MadHatterTeaPartySigns
